Iranian-born visual artist and educator Mohadese Movahed focuses on painting as the core of her studio practice. She earned her BFA from the University of Science and Culture in Tehran, Iran, and completed her MFA at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada, in 2020. Now based in Vancouver, Movahed teaches at Vancouver Film School (VFS) and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally including at Art Mûr in Montreal, Inselgalerie in Berlin, CICA Vancouver, Shirin Art Gallery in Tehran, Two Rivers Gallery and The Reach Gallery Museum in British Columbia. She is a recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant and a "Rising Star" awardee of the CICA Vancouver & Jelina Couture International Art Awards 2025.
